This series premiered on Netflix a couple of weeks ago, and I must admit I was VERY impressed with it from start to finish.
It's a marvelous adaptation, not just of the titular Edgar Allen Poe story, but of several different ones. Each episode is titled from and loosely based on Poe's writings, adapted for the modern age, all built into the story of the collapse of Roderick and Madeline Usher's pharmaceutical empire, Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, and the deaths of Roderick's six children. The entire series is a love letter to the warped imagination and brilliant creativity of Poe, and the finale is marvelously satisfying. 5/5, MUST SEE recommendation!
100% agree on this one, indie, i have watched it twice! i loved it so much i made my old guy watch it too. he's a huge poe fan, but he's been disappointed often with movie versions, he was very hesitant. but he loves it too, so now i'm going to get him to watch more of flanagan's stuff.
MIDNIGHT MASS is also outstanding.

It certainly generates millions of dollars every year for the Catholic Church.
On a side note, director Mike Flanagan who made a few films and mini-series for Netflix (including House of Usher) is parting ways with Netflix because they refuse to release any of Flanagan's stuff to physical media. Flanagan is a movie collector and would like to own his stuff he directed for Netflix on physical media. Shame on you, Netflix.
I keep wondering if Netflix is trying to go out of business. They cancel their best shows and argue with their best creatives.
This might interest fans of the show.
