SA born comedian Trevor Noah has made an ad for SA Tourism which cost somewhere in the region of R34 million.
Awful ad: Sir Peter Jackson and Taika Watiti made an Air NZ safety ad which was millions of miles better than this thing.

What do you have against Trevor Noah? I like him on the Daily Show.

No problem with him: he's done very well for himself.
My problem is that this ad has cost the South African taxpayer millions: about $2 million USD for the ad. :buggedout:
Coulda' mentioned some museums or other famous landmarks....
Except for the humping rhinos, it looks interchangeable to any other tourist town.....
Oh-. ok.

Did they mention the koala races? That would get tourism hopping!

You have a problem with $2m for an ad? Those are peanuts. You wouldn't survive Germany:
The government invested
billions of euros of tax money in
pointless projects in the last two years.
That's like, 500 ads for one billion alone

Agreed.
Our government has been accused many times over of corruption and greed and this ad - which allegedly cost 34 million Rand - is just another case in point which adds to their mantra "It is our time to eat". Sad, really.
