Title: What is something you feel you honestly, deeply need for Christmas this year?
Post by: javakoala on November 30, 2023, 06:33:09 PM
I got a job after not working for two years. I get to keep my apartment and all the crap I have amassed over my 60 years.

I think I need something or someone to make me not care so much about this world or my stuff, but, well, having zero faith in anything makes that a real p**ser to find.

A better job that allows me to actually allows me to apply what I learned in school along with better pay, paid time off, and benefits.

I think a good number of us have been wishing for that for years, Rev. I hope you get it -- without the site shutting down.

This is a good thing to hope for. Here's hoping a kind soul makes this available to you.

It seems that your mom has been rather ill for a long time. That must be very draining for both of you. A noble desire, Brother Trevor. I hope both of you get to enjoy your wish being fulfilled.

Best I can offer is a package of clean underpants to wear to the koala races.

Thanks BrotherJ: Mom suffered a huge stroke in July 2020 during lockdown and has been in care ever since: she also has dementia.  :bluesad:

Then play Santa and give yourself a present.

How about starting with the new year, if not immediately, there should be a zero tolerance policy on personal attacks on the board, with the moderator determining what constitutes a personal attack. A personal attack should result in a suspension from the site for the first offense, no warning, and a second offense should result in banning. Since the same people tend to be the ones making direct personal attacks, that would clear out longstanding troublemakers and leave the rest of us who are here to enjoy the place able to do so without being targeted. It would also free members up from having to defend themselves, as I've had to do so much I'm sick of it, and probably straighten up so much of the meanness that keeps getting started by the same few people here.

I can't go back in the city since the riots...
Quitting radio made me see the need for an occupation....
There's always those "Rocking Horse Winner" moments....
And I'm always on the lookout for a new 12 step group.... I get tired of being that guy that people only call when they need something...

Right now I feel as if I have almost everything I could possibly need in life. The only other thing I want, I can't get to I'll be happy with what I have. Other stuff is nice, but there is nothing vital.
