James Wan (Insidious) is going to bring Call of Cthulhu to the big screen. The trailer for the Micky Mouse horror film dropped today with Steamboat Willy entering public domain. Horror versions of Peter Pan and some other kids stuff is being prepped for them also entering the public domain.
Well, the James Wan one is probably the only one to look out for. The rest sounds like pooh pooh.
New horror movie not on the way:
The Salem's Lot remake. Warner been sitting on it for over a year, tests screenings weren't that good. It can't be worse than the Firestarter remake.
Yeah, I've only seen the first Insidious movie, but I'll be willing to check that one out. The others... not so much.
I always thought you could renew copyright in the USA: guess I thought wrong.

You were right at one time, but the law changed.
It's sad that the first thing they do with the public domain Mickey is a tired slasher movie where the killer wears a Mickey mask. I mean, when Winnie the Pooh went public domain, the movie at least made some attempt at addressing the characters as something other than a loon in a Pooh mask.
Here's an idea for a truly frightening film: A slasher where the killer wears a pair of Trevor's soil undies for a mask. Each victim has a pair of the same soiled undies stuffed in their mouths as a calling card. Call it "The Skidmark Massacre". Then it would be understandable if folks "raise a stink" about the film. :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:
