I knew there was a part 2, but how are there SIX of these?

Lake Placid (1999)
Lake Placid 2 (2007)
Lake Placid 3 (2010)
Lake Placid: The Final Chapter (2012)
Lake Placid vs. Anaconda (2015)
Lake Placid: Legacy (2018)
who's seen all of them? twice?
- pro tip, never call your sequel 'The Final Chapter'
I hadn't heard of Lake Placid vs Anaconda, but I've seen the rest.

I had an ANACONDA box set and it wasn't even on that
I seen the first one- no desire to see the rest.

no worry, I plan on watching all of them and reporting back with a 10,000 word detailed critical analysis for each one. stay tuned :drink:
Brendan Gleeson was great in the first one. Terrible film otherwise. No interest in 5 more entries.
I've never seen any of them and have no plans to.
I saw the first one and none of the others.
I always got the impression Betty White was having way too much fun with her role in the first one.
I've seen the first one, which I really liked, the second one, which was mediocre, and ... one of the others. I'm not sure which. It left no impression on me.

To be fair a "ruin your childhood with killer characters" movies might be kinda cool if they had a budget that wasn't just a $150 gift card to Spirit Halloween.

watched #2 last night... it's 'okay', clearly low budget and most of the locations were just random patches of grassland. I felt about as invested in it as the actors did, i.e. not much... couple of vaguely amusing 1-liners maybe? 5/10
(couldn't make that stretch to 10K words, sorry folks)
LAKE PLACID 3
definitely a step up from part 2. more fun, actors are not blatantly mocking the film, snappier pace and more focused... still crappy all things considered but just about worth the watch? 5.75/10
ok you'll be pleased to hear that even though I have more of these to watch, I'm tapping out with LAKE PLACID: THE FINAL CHAPTER (2012). turned it off after about 20 mins
I like bad, I like cheesy, I like inept, I like cringy, but I don't like it when the cast of a film clearly has a kind of mocking contempt for the film they're in. that doesn't work. back into the murky depths with this franchise.. I tried
Really liked the first one. The rest are for better or worse, standard Sy-Fy films. They can be enjoyed with the right mind set.
I have an apology to make to everyone here.
LAKE PLACID LEGACY was filmed in South Africa 😳
I know the director personally 😳
I'm sorry 😳😉😉🐢

probably true... not a mindset I'm ever really in tbh... think the only Sy-Fy movie I've seen was the one with Debbie Gibson. BIG SHARK VS MAD OCTOPUS or something?
