The shooter & one bystander are confirmed dead, & a possible second bystander.
Now I may be wrong, but I wouldn't put it past the guy to have faked this whole thing. His reactions don't seem real and don't fit his character at all. This is a guy that dove for cover when a balloon popped near him and here he's just casually getting down and then standing up and being all defiant. The Secret Service, if they were actually doing their job, shouldn't have let him stand back up for a photo op if somebody was really trying to kill him.
With three people dead, I doubt it was faked.
I am NO fan of President Trump and never will be, but I am glad he is OK.
Honestly, given how hot the rhetoric is on both sides, I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened to him or Biden sooner.
Maybe it's time we ALL rein it in a little bit.

I guess the guy who shot him was a loner who used to wear hunting gear to school. So his classmates bullied him a lot. The dude was off the deep end.
It's a 9/11 level federal screw up. not to equate trump with that, just that a guy was able to get so close despite all these billions of dollars worth of security.

Yes, obviously its a coincidence.
I am no fan of Trump. I beleive he belongs in prison for his actions. And while I do not condone the action that had taken place, given what he's done I find myself not exactly feeling sympathetic towards him.
Its like someone who gets drunk at a zoo, climbs into an animal enclosure, and gets mauled. I'm sorry it happened, but the guy is not blamesless in the situation.

He's not blameless at all, and there is also the anti-Trump rhetoric which likely fueled the shooter's actions. There is LOT of online rhetoric which says that if Trump is voted back in, America is doomed, and many groups of people will suffer. Recent discussion revolves around the controversial Project 2025 and whether Trump supports it or not.
The shooter was in his early twenties, so most of his teenage and early adult life would have been spent in the proximity, if not influence, of that messaging. It was only a matter of time before someone acted on it like this, right up there with abortion clinic bombings, jihadi beheadings, and on a lower scale, climate protestors supergluing themselves to priceless artwork or roads.
^ I don't feel for the guy at ALL. But what I do think this will motivate some kind of conspiracy theory among his cultists that somehow this was a Democrat hit or some such nonsense.
There's speculation that he had some inside help in getting into the venue undetected, but I'm more willing to blame incompetence at this point. And now his whole family and circle of friends and acquaintances, coworkers, college lecturers, everyone will be under the federal microscope. Fun ahead for nobody.
