84 years ago the UK woke up and most likely did not know it had one the Battle of Britain. Although this graphic only mentions the aircrew there were thousands more behind them without which the victory would not have been possible. My thanks go out to all of those who willingly fought and especially those who gave up everything they had be it in combat, dying from pneumonia from working insanely long hours in terrible conditions or even those who died traveling to join in the fight but never made it. May your sacrifices always have been worth it.
