I just re-watched the HAUNTING (1963) for the umpteenth time the other night, which inspired me to start this thread- can we list 100 GHOST movies?
(Of course we can!)

1. the HAUNTING (1963)- the BEST (IMHO) of them all!
I read the book as a teenager and have NEVER been without a copy since. Shirley Jackson is nearly impossible to translate to the screen, but Robert Wise still managed to make it into a classic film.

Lou Costello is cursed to occupy the grounds of a Revolutionary War era estate until his name us cleared.

Good comedy, but Bud & Lou don't act as a team. Gives the film a different feel than most of their efforts.
