Old one: Miami Vice. It's not that I didn't "get" it. This was more a case of off-putting hype that annoyed me before even trying to watch it. I wasn't blown away or hooked after watching a few episodes. I then decided I can easily live without Miami Vice in my life.

Agreed.
Miami Vice was OK for a few episodes but then it went downhill for me.
Miami Vice is a good one to not get.
My list:
Friends
The Big Bang Theory
Family Guy
The X-Files
Any reality show

I found Friends, TBBT and Family Guy remarkably unfunny.
I liked the first three seasons of The X Files but not the rest.
Agreed on reality shows which are actually so unreal, it's almost nuts.
Star Trek TNG
Star Trek Discovery
Star Trek Picard
Discovery and Picard were so full of revolting woke 💩 that the inclusiveness and diversity of the original series got lost. Characters like Michael Burnham made me want to puke.
🤢🤮
I didn't like any of these although some TNG episodes are very good.
ST Voyager and ST Enterprise were good.

I tried to get into discovery, Though I missed the pilot, so a few thing I had to figure out...
It jumped the shark early on...
The Kardashian shows.
Bunch of rich people sitting around complaining about some stuff at their house. "I don't have privacy."
You live in a mansion with a walk in closet that's bigger than my whole apartment, it has 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and two pools. Shut up.

That is the show which put me off watching reality shows for good.
I have never seen a bigger bunch of self absorbed, mouth breathing "I'm famous for being famous" idiots in my life. 😳😳😳🐢
The only truly famous Kardashian was Robert.
Young Shelton
Big Bang Theory
Family Guy
Friends
Mad Men
All reality tv

Agreed on all of those.
The Shelton character both as a young person and an adult is impossible to like and near impossible to love.
I always found Saved By the Bell kind of depressing.
The remakes of MAGYVER and MAGNUM PI were just plain 💩. The Magnum one is the worst with its gender and race swapping nonsense 😑🤧🤢

I got stuck watching some while on vacation. The beach town we were at got a bad tropical storm. Beach, boardwalk shops all closed. We weren't gonna go home to come back.
Here I am with a case of beer and pizza with nothing on tv. Worst show I've seen.
couldn't make it through the opening episodes of:
BREAKING BAD
THE WIRE
WESTWORLD
THE WALKING DEAD
nope with a side helping of nope.
I have seen 1 solitary clip of GAME OF THRONES and it's a straight no from me.
The SHERLOCK HOLMES series with Bendydick Cucumber-patch and Martin Freeman was arse on toast.
any DOCTOR WHO since the relaunch with Billie Piper. (not that I was ever a massive fan of the show anyway, but at least the older ones seemed authentic and scared me as a kid)
TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES
If you like the first 2 films, stay away from this utter dreck.
ROSWELL. not sure why I even watched this. blatantly aimed at 14yr old girls into sci fi.
SCHITT'S CREEK
Horrible and not funny, despite the calibre of some of those involved and behind it.

considering that GOODFELLAS is in my top 10 movies of all time, I struggled with this and gave up after half a dozen episodes. I didn't hate it but it didn't pull me in.

BREAKING BAD was another TV series that I also don't and didn't get. A man is dying and wants to provide for his family by creating high quality drugs but in the process becomes the very thing he beheld as bad. I watched the first episode and the last one and still cannot understand the acclaim it got nor do I understand why said person would toss pizzas on his roof 🙄😳🍕

The Walking Dead really picks up in Season 2. Stats consistently good through season 7 when Negan gets introduced.
It did fall off in the last few seasons but I enjoyed it overall.

it's rare I find someone else who doesn't like it... for me it seemed to be trying to forcibly mash Tatantino with Coen Bros styles, but in the most cringe way possible

I believe you... one of my tv watching failings (and this probably goes for BREAKING BAD too) is that I have next to zero patience for developing characters and storyline arcs.
pretty much all the tv series that I do like are structured like stand-alone episodes that could in theory be watched in any random order...

I think it's an idea that would have worked wonderfully as a comedy but as a serious drama, I had no interest in it.

I think THE SOPRANOS would actually have worked better as a comedy, like the similar ANALYSE THIS / ANALYSE THAT films with Billy Crystal and Robert Deniro.
70s and 80s tv series are really what I tend to love, but MURDER SHE WROTE doesn't do it for me... bit too knowingly lighthearted and fluffy.
THE ROCKFORD FILES I also find kinda boring, lacklustre.

I always thought Jessica Fletcher committed all those murders because she was bored and needed something to write about 😳😉😉🐢

yeah I think the whole 'everywhere she goes, someone dies' thing is a bit incriminating... IRL she would naturally end up being the prime suspect after the 4th or 5th time :teddyr:

hmm it could work?
The remakes of SALEM'S LOT and THE STAND: the originals are way better.
Arrested Development.
That show really made me hate the phrase It's the best show you're not watching
Other ones which I watched now and again were SEINFELD and FRIENDS. They were OK but I wasn't a big fan, more like a hand flapping 😉
