currently watching KNIGHT RIDER 2000, which is a 1991-made feature length TV movie of the KNIGHT RIDER tv series.
got me thinking about other TV shows which spun off into TV movie form... (I mean ones which starred some or all of the original cast members... not talking about decades later hollywood 'remake' type movies with big name actors-du-jour in them)
we have three THE BIONIC WOMAN / SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN movies (with really long titles I can't be bothered to type out), which were made in the 80s.
what others?
((- I know that often, pilot episodes of tv shows are feature length, so to clarify I'm not talking about pilot episodes -))
I heard there was supposed to be an online movie about Agents Of SHIELD that was supposed to tie in a bunch of changes between two seasons, but I could never find any info on it.....
huh, that's handy for the fans, not! never seen that show...
just remembered there's an AIRWOLF tv movie, but it appears to be the pilot.
Some episodes of Tales Of Wells Fargo were lumped together to make a few TV movies.....

yeah I was almost going to mention that trick... and how it doesn't really count. but why not.
the Steven Seagal series TRUE JUSTICE did that. put 2 x 45min episodes together to make a 'movie'. I have 3 of them on dvd, one has the inexplicable title VIOLENCE OF ACTION... wat?

I thought it was worth mentioning because a lot of the old serials of the '30s & '40s may have been forgotten if theaters hadn't started doing that in the 1950s.....
Several THE MAN FROM UNCLE episodes were edited together to make a feature.
The Waltons did six TV movies according to wiki.

I guess the law of averages means one of them is set in space, right?
IIRC Perry Mason and Gunsmoke had some TV movies that aired in the late Eighties and early Nineties or so, with Raymond Burr and James Arness reprising their lead roles.

yes you are right...seems like there's nearly 30 PERRY MASON tv movies, with Raymond Burr!
"Little House on the Prairie" ended with three TV movies. In the last one, they blow up the town!
Pokemon had some hour long specials, like "Mewtwo Returns". Not sure if those count.
Wild Wild West had a TV movie during the '80s....
I Spy had one as well, but I don't remember when...
Gilligans Island had a few.
Return to Mayberry - A TV movie sequel to "The Andy Griffith Show".
Return to Green Acres - A TV movie sequel to "Green Acres".
Both had similar plots; the main characters return to their old town & face an evil developer. (Going by Memory.)
thanks for the suggestions...
any slightly more 70s/80s 'action' genre ones welcomed!
not sure if THE A-TEAM did one?

The A Team didn't do one as far as I know.
guess not... ain't no sucka gonna make Mr T star in no confounded made-for-tv movie, ya hear!
looks like there were four MURDER, SHE WROTE movies, the last of which being 2003's THE CELTIC RIDDLE
doesn't seem like the kind of tv show universe that could possibly exist in the 2000s, but there it was...
I think there were three for The Incredible Hulk
Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style and Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas.
I think Family Ties did a movie where Alex gets into Oxford, then decides not to stay....
The Even Stevens Movie
The cast from the Disney Channel show "win" a trip to a tropical island. Turns out it's a trick, meant to get a family to unknowingly participate in a reality show. Series Finale.
Does the MASH finale count? It's long enough, but I'm not sure if it aired as a movie.

I think if it's an actual follow-on episode in its own right then regardless of length probably not...
there's a few COLOMBO ones with Peter Falk, which appear to be made around 1990 and go on till about 95
edit, and seven KOJAK ones, most of which were done in 1989 / 90
Perry Mason did a lot of them in the 80s before Raymond Burr passed.
Futurama did ones like BENDERS BIG SCORE etc: I remember those getting released as standalone DVDs here.

Interesting case. Four "Futurama" movies were released straight to DVD after the series was cancelled for the first time. They But they were not made for TV (although they've been broadcast on TV since).
love classic SIMPSONS, but somehow never watched a single episode of FUTURAMA

I recommend it, it came along just as THE SIMPSONS were starting to decline with a very similar style of humor.
