Noooooooooo! He was that guy from the paranormal clip show I liked so much with his wife and son and all their dogs. That's sadder than most celebrity death news.....

I feel like it's hard to pinpoint the first punk band or the first hardcore band but Sabbath has to be the first real heavy metal band. I don't think you could fairly call "Electric Funeral" anything else, really.

could also argue they invented stoner / sludge metal with tracks Sweet Leaf etc...

I heard a story about Ozzy. 

Despite their image, they really didn't have a lot of knowledge or experience with anything occult or Satanic, but when the Exorcist first came out they were all talked into going to see it as something they might like. 

They were all freaking out watching it, and as Ozzy put it, "s**tting themselves."  After it was over, they all went to watch another movie to try to get their minds off it, but apparently that didn't work.  They were all still so scared, they slept in the same hotel room that night.

There's a clip of him doing a photo op with fans. A guy and a lady join him, the guy goes down on one knee and asks his lady "Will you marry me" and Ozzy, without blinking says "Yes I will." 😀😃
