Robert Smith says he didn't write The Cure's Friday I'm In Love, and has no idea where it came from, he just recalled either hearing it somewhere or it spontaneously appeared fully-formed in his mind. To this day no one has really taken credit for it. Then again maybe it was all the drugs
Legendary guitar pioneer Les Paul lost his right elbow in a car accident, so he asked doctors to patch his arm sideways so he could still play....
I think I've mentioned this before, but the members of Spirit think Stairway to Heaven is a ripoff of Taurus, but they're both ripoffs of To Catch A Shad by The Modern Folk Quartet...
And Killing Joke accused Nirvana of ripping off Eighties, but a The Damned & some other rock group used that riff before that.....
I saw a YouTube video where a man went metal detecting in some woods and kept finding pennies. More pennies than you'd think would be in the middle of the woods. A handful by the time he was finished, none more recent than the mid-1970s. Turns out he was detecting in the woods where Lynyrd Skynyrd 's plane crashed, and he found out some aboard had been playing penny-ante poker when the accident happened.
Not sure if it fits, but there's a line Prince sang in "Let's Go Crazy" 'are we really gonna let the elevator being us down?' And years later he died in an elevator.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond was being recorded by Pink Floyd, a song about former bandmate Syd Barrett. The members happened to see an overweight bald man with no eyebrows visiting the studio and it happened to be Syd
Biggie Smalls and Tupac had a famous rivalry, and were both shot dead in a 6 month period in late 1996 / early 1997. Tupac died first and Biggie died second.
but the weird coincidence is there was a different rapper called Biggie Smalls who was actually friends with Tupac, and that Biggie Smalls got shot dead as well... and Tupac actually started one of his tracks (God Bless The Dead) by saying "Rest in peace to Biggie Smalls" in tribute to him.
what are the odds of that?
