Exciting news for Star Wars fans. In February 2027, there will be a limited run of the original theatrical version of Star Wars, untouched by George Lucas. As someone who was blown away by the movie in the cinema all those years ago, I am really looking forward to this.

Who has memories of the first Star Wars? When did you first see it, and what did you think?

I saw it in the Embassy Cinema in my hometown of Gwelo, Rhodesia (now Gweru, Zimbabwe) and I was ten.
Once seen, never forgotten 😊😊🐢
Mono mix or Stereo mix? Apparently there were some differences between the two sound versions, even when originally released.
I was just having a discussion the other day about the sheer amount of movies being given anniversary rereleases and how justified it was. I did go see The Thing for its rerelease but I don't think any others have really got me excited enough to go see.
I can't make up my mind on Star Wars if I'd go see it or not. Given just how big it was back then and ever since I'd say it was one that was justified though.
I saw it in theaters at age 9, the perfect age for it. Was obsessed with it for the next couple years.
Not super-interested in revisiting it, though. I wouldn't mind it but also wouldn't make a special effort to see it in re-release.
As deeply it affected me as a kid, it has been many years since I watched Star Wars in its entirety. In the late 80s and early 90s, local TV would occasionally show all the movies, usually starting with the most recent, then the others following. That's probably the last time I saw SW all the way through. Funnily, in later years I watched Star Trek the motion picture a lot more. It would be quite a trip to see SW in the cinema as I saw it as a child, minus the bogus changes that Lucas made over the years.
I want edition of Star Wars on bluray badly
