The actor and director of THIS IS SPINAL TAP, STAND BY ME and THE PRINCESS BRIDE was found stabbed to death at his home. His wife was also murdered.

Just heard about this myself. Seems like we lost a few entertainment icons these past few days.
An update: People.com reports that the primary suspect in the case is their son Nick. Not sure how this story can get any worse 😔😔
Someone like that who brought so much joy to others deserved better, as did his wife. RIP and thank you for the memories.

Losing such a wonderful filmmaker and by all accounts, a great person, is bad enough.
That his own son was the assailant is worse.
And the horrifically insensitive, disgusting comments left by the orange abomination about the whole tragedy made me want to put my fist through something.

I didn't realize he directed some of my favorites until I looked up his filmography. He didn't have a unique directorial voice, but he produced exceptional work inside the Hollywood system. His stretch of movies from 1984 to 1992 was remarkable: hit after hit with no duds. After "North" he fell off fast, but what a run from "Spinal Tap" to "A Few Good Men"!
Their son has now been formally charged with their murder. 😳😳
The more I read about this terrible tragedy, the less I want to know. 😔😔

Dreadful news, very sad. Rob was such a nice man, well liked in Hollywood, and I don't know how he could have sired such a monster.
