It's a movie that really set the standard for having constant fog everywhere. The Evil Dead also seemed to have a lot of fog, from what I remember? What are some other foggy movies? or maybe your memory is a bit foggy ahahe
Conquest (1984)
Constant fog & soft focus...
Tarkovski's NOSTALGHIA and MY NAME IS IVAN.
Antonioni's RED DESERT.
I saw at least three thrillers with a lot of fog last year: THE MAN WITHOUT A FACE, MIDNIGHT LACE, and AN ANGEL FOR SATAN.
I guess you've already considered Carpenter's feature-length treatise......

FOGGYWEEN
POD PEOPLE has a lot of fog, even more than the movie THE FOG 🤭😳😉😉🐢
Orgy of the Dead also has a very active smoke machine
Wes Craven's SWAMP THING
Boorman's EXCALIBUR, which we were discussing last month iirc.

The fog was there to hide the fact that a South African composed the score 😉
there's a Fulci which iirc has a lot of foggg... either CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD, THE BEYOND, or HOUSE BY THE CEMETARY. potentially all 3
