Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones fans, get a hold of yourselves! There's a fandom war breaking out between the two factions over on IMDb, and it's both one of the most embarrassing things I've ever heard of and a reminder that the internet is exactly the right place for this kind of stupid stuff to happen so that we bystanders can enjoy it from a distance. It all started when the fifth episode of the Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, "In the Name of the Mother," earned a rare 10/10 user rating on IMDb. (It's a good episode, but not 10/10 good.) Apparently, Breaking Bad's legendary episode "Ozymandias" held a perfect 10/10 rating for over a decade, and fans of that show could not stand that an episode from another show dare invade that sacred territory, so they started dropping 1-star reviews on "In the Name of the Mother." With the opening salvo fired, Seven Kingdoms fans countered with their own 1-star reviews of "Ozymandias," which was obliterated all the way down to a 9.6 rating as of this writing. ("In the Name of the Mother" is now a 9.5 pile of rubble.) Rather than share the spotlight, these fandoms chose violence. Ken Burns needs to make a docuseries about this.
I hate "fandoms."
There are a lot of people out there with too much time on their hands.
