Title: Project Hail Mary (2026)
Post by: WingedSerpent on March 22, 2026, 07:30:23 PM
When the sun begins to dim, school teacher Ryland Grace is for reasons asked to help save it.  He ends up on a star ship heading towards a distant star, and if you've seen the marketing, you know that he meets something out there.

First off, I didn't know this was an Amazon produced film when i saw it Friday night.  Considering the only other Amazon film I know of is that War of the Worlds remake that has been absouletly destroyed by critics and audiences, It does look like they took the message and put some effort into this one.

Over all I really liked this film.  Interesting premises, but the idea of a non- astronaut having to survive in space in one I have seen.

Visually, there are some nice looking moments and the score was one I really liked.

What I didn't like was some of the dialog. I don't know much of the author's work (this is based on a book), but there were too many moments of This sounds more like how a teenager would talk as compared to an adult.  Also one character I think they were going for quirky but was just annoying.

Not going to go into too much more, because that would be more spoilers.

Still, I'd recommend it.
