Yesterday my mother was out working in the garden. When I came to get her for supper, she was acting odd and I called 911. She's been in the hospital since last night. They say her vitals and most of her test results look good, but she was still acting strangely. They gave her an MRI and it came back that she had a stroke. They're taking her to neurology for further testing and assessment now.
Her range of movement seems normal, and she knows who she is, where she is, who everybody else is, and what's going on around her, but she feels distant and detached. She doesn't talk, mostly just nodds her head, but she will give the occasional one or two word answer.
Right now I'm just waiting to hear more from the doctor. I'm not sure what's going to happen next.

sorry to hear
Thank you, guys.
I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.
yeah hope she's okay...
Sorry to hear that, I hope she makes a full recovery.
Sorry to hear. It sounds like she is in the best possible place right now, though.
I am so sorry :bluesad:
Hang in there! I hope it gets better
It's been almost a week. Feels like a month or more. She's still not talking much and acting odd (butr not nearly as odd as she was) and they're still running additional tests. It was a stroke.
She's still in the hospital and they're waiting on some test results.
Right now they say that once she gets out, it's probabaly a good idea to have her spend some time in a physical therapy center.
