Title: Creepy houses in movies?
Post by: Trevor on August 30, 2026, 03:01:09 AM
I nominate the doctor's home, consulting rooms and surgery in the film THE CRIMSON RIVERS. The house is in France and is called the Keller Pavillion.

Wyndham House in the TV movie BAFFLED: portrayed as a house of evil, it is now a Buddhist centre in London 😏

The creepy (and oddly designed) house from LOST HIGHWAY that Bill Pullman lives in was apparently David Lynch's real home. If I was Mrs. Lynch (maybe Mary Sweeney at the time?) I'd be nervous about going to bed at night. Lynch also shot scenes for INLAND EMPIRE in his backyard. A real DIY kinda' guy.

not a great film at all, but there is something really odd about the house in the 2006 remake of WHEN A STRANGER CALLS. gives me the hoop-las. (whatever they are)

For the second time today, I misspoke somewhat. It was definitely Lynch's "house" - though apparently one of a couple buildings on the property, so it's unconfirmed whether he and Mary Sweeney slept there or somewhere else in his "compound". For her sake, I hope it was elsewhere!
