Title: Unintentionially hilarious dialogue
Post by: J.R. on July 01, 2002, 06:40:59 AM
Nothing I love more than a line of dialogue that comes out wrong. Some examples:

This Island Earth: "All his jerking sround must have caused a flame-out,"

The Brady Bunch: "We'll go down on the donkeys,"

Tha Brady Bunch: "This isn't eating. With popcorn you have to chew, this slides down all by itself,"

The Deadly Bees: "Have you seen the dog's meat?"

My favorites are..
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS:  "GIVE ME THE ROD !!!"  followed by... "WHAT ABOUT MY HEAD !?!"

also.. I don't know it this is correct or not (been a long time since I've seen it)
PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE:  "He's dead !"  "He's been murdered !"  "And I'll bet somebody's responsible !"

(I haven't seen it since it was in theatres, so I'm paraphrasing as best I can.)

From X-Men:

"He may be older than even YOU, Professor!!"
--Jean Grey, Mistress of Tact

"Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else!"
--Storm, Mistress of the Pointless and Obvious

And people say comic books are cheesy. It would have been better if she'd said, "You're in for a shock," or  "It''s electrifying,".

In a scene in "Julian Donkey-Boy " there is some blind guy who plays Amen Amen on the piano but I thought he was saying "Mini Minya" to some guy dancing. If you ask me I wish someone would review this one though even if it is "Artsy Fartsy" like Werner Herzog puts it.

I think JULIEN DONKEY-BOY might be too bad to review.   I gave up on it after about 45 minutes.  But it's not bad in a fun way.....

Or we could try HEAVEN'S GATE, which was so bad I think it nearly destroyed the studio that produced it.

Two gems from "Walker"...

"God bless the Texas republic!" (C.D. Parker when asked by the villains if he wanted to say anything before being killed)

Comment: And me thinking Texas was part of the USA...

"It is always an honor to serve governor George Bush" (Ranger Tribette doing some not so subtle political propaganda)
