Title: captian?
Post by: kriss emmett on July 04, 2002, 05:33:26 AM
why oh why is no one making a captian america movie he is by far the greatest superhero (on par with spiderman) and his story of becoming a supersoldier complete with nazi conspiracys and wardrama could make a more sophistocated super hero movie, as for who i would cast as captain america only one name springs to mind only one guy could possibly play the cap-i-tian and that one man is.

VIN DIESEL king of new age action and acting.

There actually was a Captain America movie made in the early 90s (or maybe late 80s) by Albert Pyun. It was, um, less than sophisticated.

I think there was also a serial starring the Captain made in the 30s or 40s. I don't think I've seen it for sale, but snippets were redubbed in Phil Proctor and Peter Bergman's "J-Men Forever," where he was renamed the Lone Star. These serials are also notable because I believe it's their rendition of the Red Skull that eventually became the logo for the Misfits.

VIn Diesel's too young to play Cap, and his voice is too gravelly. The defender of liberty can't talk like Snake Pliskin with a cold. Who would do a good job? Hmmm...this is a superhero adaption, so it's inevitable that Nic Cage be mentioned. His weak jaw and puny physique scratch that. How about Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from LOTR)? He ddefinitely has the chin-butt for it, and he can be a badass, as seen when he takes out the Uruk-Hai. Hopefully Cap's superfly buccaneer boots would make it through the costume design.

Vin Diesel would make a good Red Skull though!
