erik j posted about his a couple boards back. he recommended it for a strange b-comedy. strangely, i was waiting for it to be delivered at the time and hadn't seen it. i watched it the other day.
this is a fun little twisted comedy. 2 guys...er idiots...leave ohio and go to hollywood to pick up chicks. instead of being a typical 80s hollywood T&A fest (not that there's anything wrong with that), it turns into a pretty intelligent comedy about the hollywood game and scriptwriting. in a bizarre way it's like "dumb & dumber" crossed with "the player."
the really dumb idiot likes to go to wax museums to work on his impressions. the other one becomes a tv writer and creates a show based on pac-man directed in a fish motif by a swedish director. ahhhhh! "wall-of-fish." it gets weirder. you have to see the "robot from outer space!!!"
i'd bet my bottom dollar the farrelly brothers dig this movie. there are a lot of those sick little jokes in this movie that the farrellys use----you know, realistic looking shockers in the context of a comedy. there are also some big similarities to "dumb & dumber." really messy roomates with semi-gay-undertones leave home for unfamiliar surroundings.
example of a twisted gag: the landlord with the way-botched scars along his spinal column from bad operations. during a spasm, he asks one of the idiots to hook him up in his homemade traction machine.
gonna have to watch this one again,
