Title: Scariest shows on TV right now...
Post by: Repo Man on July 13, 2002, 06:42:44 PM
I sometimes am afraid to turn on my TV for fear that I may accidentally see one of these shows.  They will actually make you SICK TO YOUR STOMACH!

2.  Diary of Brandy:  The Baby Project (MTV)
1.  Sorority Life (MTV)

Anything on MTV is scary. What ever happened to music on mtv? I remember when it went 24 hours with only VJ's cutting in, maybe some interviews. They need to change it to CTV (crap tv)

Right now my annoyance is that "Americon Idol" show one of the main networks is airing, bunch of "fame" wannabe singers who all sound the same, sing the same, and look like if this show doesn't pan out for them they'll end up on the Elimidate and Fifth Wheel shows...anything to just get their 15 minutes. We've become a society obsessed with people wanting to be on tv, no matter what. And usually it's doing the most degrading things imaginable. Honestly I never thought it could get worse than the Gong Show until jerry springer birthed a new brand of entertainment.

Canadian TV.  The Royal Canadian Air Farce and This Hour has 22 Minutes give me the heebie jeebies and The Red Green Show actually terrifies me.  I don't know if they're available in America, but pray, pray they will never be.

There is nothing wrong with   The Red Green Show .  It's funnier than hell.

Of course, a lot of things are funnier than hell, but that's not the point.

To those who haven't seen it, The Red Green Show might be playing on PBS (in the US) where you live.  Check it out.  It may not be great television, but it beats watching Plan 9 from Out Space for the four hundredth time.

Not that I've watch Plan 9 that much.

Really.

Another disposable reality show, where everybody(except for Gerry, the fat and bald middle aged guy) looks like American Pie/The 5th Wheel/WB Cast wannabes, and Josh(the Richard Hatch of the show)is the only interesting person on there,as well as the only one with any personality(even Carl, the Carson Daly clone, and Chiara, the Jasmin St. Claire lookalike, don't spark any interest for me).Even Puck(who is actually more hysterically funny and more crazier in person)is way more intriguing than anyone in that BB3 house.
Host Julie Chan is still goddamn annoying(there's always more of her, than that damn BB house),and the show looks like it filmed around three months ago, since it don't look like it was filmed live(like the first one was).
I was going to be applying for this show, but didn't because I started a new job at the time(of applying for BB3),but am glad I didn't go on here, since it's more bent toward exploiting The Beautiful People, then your average looking Joe(without casting anyone as buttugly as those first season "Survivor" jabronis).
                  Enough said here.

THere's been commercials on FOX for some new talent show thing where people get on stage in front of judges and an audience, and are given one minute to try and impress them.  They can do anything they want, any kind of an act, and try to get a good score.

It's basically "The Gong Show 2k2," but I forget what it's actually called.

dog eat dog ---ok, a fair amount of hot chicks in bikinis---but they seem to always throw in a really annoying dude. first show had some buy who thought he was a cross between tom green and the dell idiot. then they had a cross between marilyn manson and barney. and the host, while very hot, has no personality. makes no spontaneous comments. and over-u-nun-see-ates everything.

undressed----mtv took this off for a while after the towers. but it's back on. bad soap opera where everyone gets laid and that's all they seem to do. when you realize the mtv demographic starts with 12 year olds, you really start to wonder if the execs behind this piece of crap really have souls. i mean, between all the britney spears and undressed, what a joke that mtv runs periodic "special episode"-type shows. really everything on mtv sucks except jackass---and that appears to be gone. i guess ozzy is ok too. and the hyper-cheerful asian host is a new low. she never stops grinning and often talks with  that "i'm-about-to-laugh" type inflection. BRING BACK "THE YOUNG ONES"!!!

cribs---any kiddie-pop-"punk"er that lives in a mansion the size of texas. tell me again how file sharing is ruining the music bidness. no wonder great independent bands don't get good record deals---that dude from blink 182 needs a backlit swimming pool. i do enjoy seeing tacky rapper-pads though. and old hair-metal dudes.

elimidate- - any one where everyone kisses each other in a bizarre sort of pg-rated gang bang.

any SNL skits with that jimmy fallen guy.  he does the news with that chick. together they are even more annoying.

the audience laughter on david letterman got ridiculous after his surgery. dave says anything=audience laughter. overuse of the applause/laughter sign.

real world---tried watching this last season since it was in chicago. blasphemy. this was better when they had people in their early to mid-twenties. it was just more interesting. now it's just summer camp.

Because it's not the "real world" anymore. Usually the first show/season of anything reality based is going to be better, more honest. Then the young, beautiful, eager to exploit themselves are lured to these shows in order to shake boobs, create "drama" and ultimately get discovered. (cough)

I've been fascinated with the latest incarnation of Family Feud lately. Louie Anderson is friggin' BIZARRE, and the families all seem to be clinically insane.

Fear factor scares me. Mostly because everytime it comes on I'm eating dinner, and they're eating pig colon!

That's not true. They've also eaten worms, sheep's eyes, bugs, buffalo testicles...

Besides, you eat colon every time you have sausage. :)

The absolute worst has got to be that "chicks looking for husbands in Alaska" (I've only seen the promos for it) show.  Let's see, you are so desparate for a man that you are willing to put the entire "courtship" on national tv, and risk being humiliated in front of millions if he doesn't propose?  At least with that American Idol show, the worst thing that could be said is that you're a crappy singer.  Hell, I'm a crappy singer, I just don't need to put my personal life in front of the entire country.

BTW, I liked the Gong Show.  Completely tacky, and it reveled in its tackiness.

I have to agree on MTV Cribs being a damned scary show.

And we are supposed to feel sorry about filesharing and taking profits from them???

I guess all of my time on Kazaa has cost Master P another set of chrome wheels.
