Title: Halloween: Resurrection resurrects slasher gold?
Post by: Chadzilla on July 15, 2002, 07:38:24 PM
Or does it?  I haven't seen it, but a dear longtime friend of mine (and one who is not the worlds biggest slasher movie fan) was pleasently surprised by it - he called it a surprisingly decent "stab" at the genre that took him off guard by actually being decent.

It also raked in a little over 12 million dollars at the box office on its opening weeked, considering that the budget was something like 8 to 10 million dollars, it does not look like this series is going to fold for at least another sequel or two (so I guess Halloween 9 and 10 are to be expected).

I saw it today.

It wasn't bad, But *spoiler* jammie lee curtis gets killed in the beggining. Isn't the whole point of the halloween movies for Mike to find her and kill her? Well this may sound lame but this is the first halloween movie i've seen. It had some ok scenes but the ending is very very cliche. But I expected that. Its ok if you can go to the theatres for cheap or something. Or you could wait to rent. But I didn't feel too cheaped out. Bustah Rhymes was damned annoying in it tho.

Saw it last night. I liked it. There is some decent writing in this one(pretty rare for a slasher flick). It ain't gonna change the world but it's good for a fun night at the movies. Busta Rhymes is pretty funny in this movie. Alot of hot chicks in this flick as well(a real plus in my book).

Not the greatest, but better than the last five sequels(Parts 3 through H20),even though Part 4 nearly succeeded with its attempt at the original's suspense and class.
Busta Rhymes pretty much held up the movie's viewing strength, and they should have made the now crazy Laurie escape the asylum, and confront Michael at their old family hom, with her helping Busta nail Michael down, instead of the quickie cameo way that they used her in.
