Title: movie i saw when i was a kid
Post by: Ronnie on July 22, 2002, 06:04:04 AM
There was this movie i saw when i was a kid...it sticks in my mind because it was one of the first horror/sci fi movie that i saw where a guy was the lone survivor...i think the name of it was GALAXY OF TERROR and one of girls in it was played by Erin Torpey (not sure if this is her name) she played Joanie on Happy Days.  It is about a ship of people who end up on a planet somewhere and they all die horribly someway except for the main guy who basically has to face all his friends dead later on in the movie and ends up playing chess with somesort of alien sorceror and beats him and gets offered the job of being the alien sorcerer i am a little fuzzy on the ending because it was probably one night i snuck downstairs to watch cable.   If anyone knows how i can get this movie to watch again or even that it really was a movie and not some b movie dream i made up for myself let me know...thanks

The actress's name was Erin Moran, and yes, this movie actually does exist.  From what I know, the movie's out of print.  However, I think Amazon.com was auctioning one off, if you want to try that.  Also, you could check E-bay.

There might be other places, of which the posters on this board will no doubt clue you in on.

Apparently this is a very highly sought-after movie--seems to go for around $40-50 on EBay.

Yup, Galaxy of Terror with Edward Albert (not Eddie Albert), Erin Moran, Ray Walston, Robert Englund and Sid Haig. They went there to rescue another ship, then decided to investigate the alien pyramid to find out what happened to the first ship. Turns out it was all a test to find out who would become the next 'Planet Master'. Creepy movie, I like it.
