To me, it sounds like she got this mixed up with And Then There Were None and Deliverance, but here's the plot.
This family goes on a canoe trip and run into bad weather, they go on land and see a cabin, go into it and it's empty, so they stay in it. Later the family who owns it shows up, and pretty much welcome them with open arms. That's about all I can make up of the plot, but my mom says this scene stuck in her head...this little girl was on a swing and she was pushed so hard that she went over the bar and died.
I might not have the deatils right, but this is all I can do.
Replies please.
American Gothic?
Wasn't there a girl on a swing gag in that? Oh and Rod Steiger, RIP. (He was in it)
It certainly sounds like AMERICAN GOTHIC.
However, the little girl. . . ahem, the forty-year old little girl was never on the swing. But her and her forty-year old brother did push another guy on the swing so hard he fell off a cliff and died.
Terrible movie, but I still found it sort of creepy.
I third American Gothic as the movie your looking for.
I have nothing further to add.
Kind of redundant, I guess.
