If you had your pick of any four cars, planes, boats, etc. from movies or tv, what would they be?
My four:
General Lee: for that old school, redneck feel. YEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAWWW!
Air Wolf: Can kick Blue Thunder's ass from N.Y. to CA. and back 5 times.
The Batmobile*: It was simple yet the design said it all. Not like that flashy s**t in the last two flicks
The Knight Industries 2000: Tell me who does not want to get behind the wheel of this talking bad boy
Runners Up:
Nighthawk: Nice, but I don't like motorcycle that much.
Thunder*: Can't swim
Viper: It was a coin toss between that and K.I.T.T. (see above) and the coin said heads.
* Batman and Batman Returns
What are your choices?
>>The Knight Industries 2000: Tell me who does not want to get behind the wheel of this talking bad boy<<>>
Yeah but just imagine everyone who crashes that car in a pent up release of frustration from the car telling them how to live their lives and yapping on and on and on..
Btw what does "etc" mean? Because I want the time machine from "The time machine" as my choice of travel
James Bond's car that has a rocket launcher. With an unlimited supply of rockets.
Car. The TV Batmobile > .............................................................................................................Plane. The AV-8B Harrier from "True Lies">................................................................................................................Ship. The Seaview With Flying sub! (Best of both worlds!).
The TARDIS (from Doctor Who ). All the way. There is not a fiction craft out there finer that a TARDIS, particularly a TARDIS with a working chameleon circuit.
The chameleon circuit could change the ship into any form. That means one week you could be cruising on a motorcycle, the next a sports car, the next a cruise ship, etc.
Couple that with the TARDIS's main function, traveling through Time and Space, and you have yourself the perfect vehicle.
Nothing beats the TARDIS, man. Nothing.
The car from THE CAR. In fact, if anything I write ever rakes in a sizable amount of cash I'm HIRING George Barris Customizing to build me one (he customized the original).
The hearse from THE HEARSE (or the one from Phantasm). Or just any hearse. I love hearses and always wanted one. (My wife however thinks that's sick - should have married the chick that runs grimrides, but I digress...)
The Bandit's Trans-Am (I grew up in the seventies, so that car was the ULTIMATE cool vehicle).
Runners up
The Bluesmobile from The Blues Brothers (the first one)
A 1958 Plymouth Fury (a.k.a. Christine)
Batmobile from the TV series.
Police Chief Martin Brody's 4x4 (either one will do - just cause I love Jaws so much and Jaws 2 is my favorite Jaws sequel - but it HAS to have the Amity P.D. logo on the door).
Frankenstein's car from Death Race 2000!
you can choose whatever you want whether it is the time machine or Battle Cat from the He-Man cartoon. Whatever bakes your bread.
> > Jaws 2 is my favorite Jaws sequel
That ain't saying much, with the competition being "Jaws 3D" and "Jaws: The Revenge"
The 58 Fury from Christine
That kickass car Jackie Chan drives in Armor of God
One of those big ass robots from Robot Jox(stupid movie but the robots were cool.).
The A-Team van(HELL YEAH!!!)!!!
Let's see :
Wife and I both came up with Cursor from the short lived series Automan-why not you can have any vechical you want, only at night(bad show, cool idea)
The light bikes from Tron
The tank type thing from Damnation Alley
And the Seaquest sub
I want the helicopter AIRWOLF as long as Stringfellow Hawke could fly it for me.
I want the Joker Face tractor trailer from Maximum Overdrive.
I want either the Romulan Warbird or the Klingon Bird Of Prey I am torn between these two.
I want the Love Bug- who couldn't want a car like that?
>The Batmobile*: It was simple yet the design said it all. Not like that flashy s**t in
>the last two flicks
Yes, but it had no roof! Don't get me wrong, I liked it too, but what would you do in the rain or snow?
Um...put up the hood? The canopies are shaped like those on a jet fighter...just roll up the rest of it from the back. Thats my guess.
>Yes, but it had no roof! Don't get me wrong, I liked it too, but what would you do in the rain or snow?<
My Brutha, not the tv batmobile, but the movie batmobile. THAT has a roof.
The 'Back To The Future' Delorean
The Pork Chop Express (Jack Burton's big rig from 'Big Trouble in Little China')
Ash's indestructible Oldsmobile, later becomes the Death Wagon.
I agree with a lot of the choices already named: the Bandit's Trans Am (original 1976 one), the A-Team van, the Landmaster from Damnation Alley, Airwolf, KITT, etc.
I also wouldn't mind that rig from the Highwayman.
Cobra had some pretty slick vehicles on GI Joe, if you want to get into cartoons. I always liked the HISS tanks.
If you want vehicles with a certain junky coolness, there is also the Screaming Mimi from Riptide, the Titanic from Trapper John or the Vulture from Salvage I. There must be more.
The A-Team van, damn good choice. The SeaQuest sub good choice as well. Do any of you guys remember that car from that short lived show HARDCASTLE &McCORMICK?
Yep, the Coyote. Cool car, and the show had a cool theme song. Wish I could find a full-length verson on CD.
Kolchak's Mustang convertiable from the series and Rockford's car (I am dating myself horribly here)
D'oh! Okey on the first movie with Keaton. The Grenade Hub caps were a surprise! Perfect for "Car wars". Still prefer the 60's car, though. Guess it shows my age, as i remember Caddy tail fins as "current styling". Ooooh! Super car! "Super-Caaaah! ..Super-Caaaah....."
Has anyone picked the "Fireball XL-5" yet? Right up there with Super car! Oh, and the Captain Scarlet Angle Fighters and the Spectrum mobile.
Heck, as a matter of fact, you could have a whole wing dedicated to Garry Anderson alone! The Eagles and hawks from Space:1999, alone, are worth the price of admition.
Has anybody suggested the Mach 5 yet?
easy!!!!!!!!
i'd take THE VAN from the movie THE VAN!!!
doesn't anyone remember that shag-carpeted thing?!
AND it even had a toaster AND a waterbed AND an 8-track.
AND a bubble window AND it was nearly two normal vans long.
AND it was canary yellow. AND...
AND i would work at a car wash run by danny devito!
-mr. henry
damnit i'm gonna go for a drive in my chevy van right now!
The.. Vehicle from Damnation Alley. Mad Max's interceptor. James Bond's Aston Martin. And... TheBus from The Bus.
Oh snap! I remember that big ass helicopter from Riptide. With the big ass grin in the front. And if your going to cartoons, how about every vehicle in Mask, From Switchblade to Rhino.
What is also a good choice, that pick up truck in the Fall Guy.
Just reminded me of the van from Freeway Death Car, or whatever the movie was called. I just liked the way the cover was left off the motor, so the driver had this big chromed-up V8 sitting right next to him.
The challenger from Vanishing Point
If we can go with cartoons...
I'd take the Phoenix from "Battle Of The Planets"
The train from "Galaxy Express 999"
and Fujikuro's Dempaden from "Iria"
The Nautilus from 20,000 leagues.. dripping with style.
The Mach 5 - Those retractable buzz-saws would come in so handy for removing pedestrian traffic at rush hour
The Time Machine or the Tardis, its a toss up.
That SUV thing from Spacehunter
>The Mach 5 - Those retractable buzz-saws would come in so handy for removing pedestrian traffic at rush hour
And for "Euthenasia Day at the old folks home"
>The Time Machine or the Tardis, its a toss up.
Tardis has more luggage room
>That SUV thing from Spacehunter
In 3-D!
Th armored bus from "The Gauntlet", or the super car from "The Wraith" would rock.
I'd take any of the cars from the Wraith.
Both Eleanor's

(plus the car as well!
I'm a sucker for muscle cars

The Faculty

Dazed And Confused (awesome car, color sucks though)

I would agree over KITT from Knight Rider. I want a talking car!
Even though the series was an abomination, Supertrain would be pretty cool to own.
I would like to have a Transformer of any vehicle (or combination of vehicles, like the triple-changers) for a friend.
Also, I would like to have the Transformer suit that Daniel had in the movie. Make mine a jet.
Mad Max V8 Interceptor

Ecto-1

The black Charger from the first Fast and the Furious movie. That was a sweet car.
Firefox. Loved that jet
The Hind-D from Rambo III.
I have many many more but these are my top three.
Later,
John
