At the same year in 1967, South Korea engaged in the kaiju eiga market. Kuk Dong Film Co. made YONGARY, MONSTER FROM THE DEEP which was released here by American International Pictures-TV. And then their is WANGMAGWI, made by Century Film Corporation. While YONGARY is known here as a cult film, WANGMAGWI isn't.
WANGMAGWI is about aliens from space who dispatch a monster with flappy ears and crab-like claws to destroy Seoul. Apparently, WANGMAGWI was released in Korea. However, their are some sketchy reports of the film being released as MONSTER WANGMAGWI in dubbed and subtitled format Internationaly. WANGMAGWI hasn't even been released here!
The film seems to be lost as their are hardly any import VHS or laserdiscs of the film. Hell, it's not recorded in the imdb.com! So, it seems to be lost.
Has anybody here heard of WANGMAGWI and possibly seen a rare print or video of the film?
doesnt exist, even among hardcore kaiju collectors.
There's a chance there's a print somewhere in Korea, but A) finding it and B) getting it out of the country have proved fruitless so far.

Only decent reference I can find. No pics for the film in question, but nice coverage of other Korean monsterflicks.
