Title: Baby Face Nelson: Hi-larious (funny enough to merit hyphenation)
Post by: Luca Brasi on August 10, 2002, 04:52:36 AM
Have any of you seen this? It's really amusing. C. Thomas Howell, of Soul Man "fame", stars as the title mobster. Clint Howard makes a memorable appearance as a bank clerk and there is one scene with pointless, unexplained digging! The mark of a masterwork! Hideously sub-par (what can I say, I'm hyphen crazy) action and hideously suber-par everything else make this a must see!

Hummmm......could be a good sub catagory. Thirtys gangster movies. "Boxcar Bertha, Dillinger(Warren oats), The St. Valentines massacrer, Bonny and Clyde."....lots of stuff here. Could a new form of reviewers roundtable be possable?

I like Dillinger, the action scenes are terrific (bodies falling on cars, old ladies getting hit by cars, it's got it all!) and I just saw Boxcar Bertha a few days ago, the end crucifying/shotgun battle scene was awesome, really cool look to it. And don't forget Millers Crossing, my personal favorite gangster movie of all time.
