One of Andrew's favorite movies, Hawk the Slayer, is coming to DVD in early November. Extras seem sparse, likely a trailer and still gallery, but I look forward to watching it.
YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Like plot, acting, reason
Freep, my lad(Lass?)...If plot, acting and reason were so important, what would we doing here? Sorry Andrew, but it had to be asked.
>Freep, my lad(Lass?)
Lad, I used to post as "Jay O'Connor", I just decided to start using an old nickname
>If plot, acting and reason were so important, what would we doing here?
Hey, I wasn't criticizing or complaining :) I have fond memories of when I was younger of "Hawk, The Slayer"
Reminded me of a Doonesbury strip many years ago when Duke was believed to be dead and Zeke was going to write a biography for him. When hiring a ghost writer to help out, they we discussing payment terms for the book
Ghost: Literary merit will cost you extra
Zeke: Literary merit?
Ghost: Adjectives, adverbs, that sorta thing
I'd probably buy it, I have fond memories of when it would turn up on "The CBS Late Movie" program after the local news.
Besides it has Jack Palance chugg-a-lugging the scenery in a funky helmet and that goofy "revolving circles of light" effect.
Ah! I think MST did this puppy. Jack "I chew scenery for breakfast " Palance. That man is a patron saint of B-movies.
Great voice, and a relaxed hamminess that lets ya sit back, put you feet up, and say, "I can handle the cheese. Bring it on, Jack!"
Do not, btw, confuse this with "Hawwuck, the slayer", the story of a barbarian who defeats his enemies with high velosity spitting. Deadlyist sinius cavitys in the land! Humm...wheres my Vicks vapo rub? So Jay is now Freep. Anyone else changed their monickers, and not let us in on the update? Just wondering.....
I did a little poking around, and I discovered that HTS will be released on DVD by Hen's Tooth Video - a label that doesn't exactly have a good reputation because of the bad jobs it's done with its previous releases (full-frame pan-and-scan, using scratched and unrestored prints, etc.)
