Title: Doris Wishman Passes Away
Post by: Steven Millan on August 13, 2002, 02:05:27 AM
In important to share with my fellow homies here on this board, legendary cult fillmaker/softcore T&A auteur Doris Wishman sadly passed away this past weekend, from an unidsclosed illness.
After a twenty+ years hiatus,Doris finally returned to filmmaking with both "Satan Was A Lady",and "Dildo Heaven",both which she sells(on DVD)at her website, and was in production of "Each Time I Kill",her first horror/slasher movie since "A Night To Dismember".
Doris' death is a important factor in reminding us all that we have to fully appreicate every fellow genre cult filmmaker that is still among the living(Herschell Gordon Lewis,Dario Argento,John Carpenter,Larry Cohen)while they still walk amongst the earth, and release every single film that is their latest celluloid feature.
                     Rest In Peace,Doris,for you'll be sorely,sorely missed.

Oh man! She is one of my favorite filmakers of all time. Last year on her   website (http://www.doriswishman.com/), a then-current picture was posted of her and Herschell Gordon Lewis together!
Some of my fav's are Too Much, Too Often, The Immoral Three and, of course, Deadly Weapons.
I'm glad she came back to filmaking and will check out her most recent titles. An exploiteer and crafty filmaker that deserves to stand alongside Russ Meyer, HG Lewis and John Waters.

....I am saddened for sure................................
