<-> Plot: Two Irishmen One Catholic, One Prodistent, try to become the most successfull wig salemen in Northern Ireland. Dir. Barry Levinson.
<-> STUFF TO WATCH FOR!:
Northern Ireland. Good place for a comedy.
Visual narration?
She's squeezing his blackheads? Now thats love, brother!
Cloneing, or just nepotisim?
The bad poets scociaty.
Barber shop in an asylem for the Reality Impared. I know how that feels.......
Random, gratuitous earbiteing! And not a boxer in sight.
Wish my barber told stories that good.
Billy Connelly : Mankey Scots psyco.
Ya know what they say, the customers always weird.
Does that realy happen in Londonderry theaters?
The un-pantsing scene. Enjoy, ladies.
Another Brit flick with overuse of the universal F#%@ing adjuctive.
Dogs hate wigs. Recomendation: Do Not p.o. the Rotweiler.
Plot point!
The fate of grass. Watch yer step, lad!
Do NOT argue with the bald man holding the gun!
Now thats salesmen ship.
A hairy plot point.
Even the Ulster Constabulary hate wigs.
American T.V. shows: our cultural ambassadore to the world. (Yee Hah!)
Is the scene in the chicken place some subtle product placement?
Perfect suit for a poetry reading.
Got beer?
A sign from God...in an Irish toilet....like, where else?
Actualy, her plan makes sense...in a melancholy kind of way
And, finaly(yea)....When two bald men put thier heads together....................
Flangepart says, Check It Out! If Irish Dilect don't throw ya, this one works. I took a chance on it, and i liked it. The background of N. Ireland is everpresent, and that puts an edge to the story that keeps you alert. All in all, a nice change of pace. Too much F-bomb for my needs, and unlike "Lock Stock and two smokeing barrels" and its venue, diden't realy need it. But, that said, its a little different. And that works for me.
Enjoy. <-> Back to you, Andrew! Humm...i'd realy like a Killians Red about now......

I thought it started out really well, and it got my hopes up with Billy Connelly playing  wacko barber turned mental patient "The Scalper". I wanted more of him in the movie. It shows you how funny the guy is to take a throwaway line like "Good point!" and make you laugh at it. Have you seen STILL CRAZY? He shines in that one too.

But I hate how the film got preachy in the last third, it was too serious a change in tone, from what was an amusing, slightly dark comedy set in the middle of The Troubles. But I loved the actress playing the Catholic guy's girlfriend, the house in the middle of no man's land, and the soundtrack.

D'oh!
How could i forget to mention the soundtrack? I like new Celtic music, and this one did well. Haas Zimmer was the music director.
Hummm....personaly, i thought they handled the end okey. Not as obvious or heavyhanded as a hollywood standard likely would.
I agree. Billy Connelly made me expect more from his part. What happened? It seemed to just walk out of the movie. Oh,well.
