Title: weirdo: my first andy milligan film
Post by: mr. henry on August 22, 2002, 02:08:33 PM
andy milligan...wow...i also have "guru the mad monk." ...

i'm gonna have to learn more about this guy...his films (the two i've seen) are hard to describe in their badness...there is a strange tone that nothing else i've seen has...if his films had a smell, there'd be a hint of mildew...i found an excellent article that articulates the demented genius of andy milligan at horror-wood...http://www.horror-wood.com/milligan.htm

a quote from that article: "The Milligan universe is a wholly peculiar one, an odd cross between underground film, home movie, and amateur theater..."

 and another quote:
"Andy Milligan is a name that strikes terror in the hearts of many a horror film buff. His dingy, grubby, reckless no-budget wonders are unlike any other genre films. A viewer will likely find a Milligan film either impossible to watch, or impossible to forget. "

i encourage b-fans (new to milligan like myself) to look into this guy...he's right up there with ed wood...only different.

Patty from WilliamGirdler.com sent me her extra copy of "The Rats Are Coming!  The Werewolves Are Here!" and that was quite a different flick.  First off, people talk a lot.  Secondly, there is a disturbing scene with a mouse and a scratch awl.

Or was it a screwdriver?  Moot point... ...the mouse was in a hurt locker.

Can we expect a review soon?  TRACTWAH remains one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I sat through Murder by Television.
