I went to the doctors office and he told me i got aids from my last blood test. i dont know how to deal with all of this i just thought i would tell you guys.

With all the new treatments today it's not a death sentence.

a friend of mine was diagnosed as such 6 years ago. he is still alive & looks better than ever, following, as he does, a very strict regimen of drug-taking & exercise & vitamins that so far seems to keep it all in check.
as someone else here said, all is not lost.

i got it from a bloodtest a year ago. i am just finding out now. its just hiv though.
Well with a good diet and with the right meds you should live a full happy life with HIV. I know and have known people with HIV the ones who give up and don't follow the programs normally go into full blown AIDS. What you need to do is start taking care of yourself and ask you doctor what you can do. Better yet find a doctor who specializes in this. Just remember it's a disease NOT a disgrace.

That sucks. Sounds like you have the makings of a nice lawsuit. Having blood drawn is supposed to be safe, especially since they use disposable needles.
As someone who goes for a blood test at least once a year, I'd be very interested to know if you can shed anymore light on how you could have gotten it? Also, who did the test, an assistant at your doctor's office, or a dedicated lab?
I realize that this probably isn't your favorite subject right now, but if bloodtests carry a risk of catching either HIV or AIDS, I think people should know about it.
I hope things work out as well as possible for you.
I pray to God to give you the strength to carry on living your life, and my most sincere condolences that you have suffered this. I've always considered you as a friend, even if I didn't take the time to try and get to know you more personally, and it makes me sad that this has happened. So in case I never get another chance to say this, I found you to be a friend, and I was happy just to have known you, and I pray that God is with you all the way throughout this.

That's a tragic new, Josh, but with the appropiate medication you should be able to live a normal life after all. Luckily AIDS is no longer a delayed death sentence anymore and everyday we learn more about it and how to fight it.
Some advice:
1) You'd better check the people you have met since you caught the disease and may have become contagiated. It is gonna be painful and difficult, but if you don't do it the consequences can be terrible.
2) Don't give up. Ever.

I Don't meant to be a pain the ass, but being the paranoid sort, I'd really like to know how you got it from a blood test. In fact, how did they determine that the blood test was the source?
HIV was developed by the U.S. Government for biological warfare, so maybe someone in power wants you eliminated...
Please note I'm not trying to make light of your situation, but I truly believe that.

Let me add my sympathy. I've known people to live with this for many years, so don't give up. Hopefully genetic engineering will fix this disease.
