Title: They all float down here...
Post by: Libby on September 05, 2002, 06:02:37 AM
Ok, new - chewer here.
Question: IT, Stephen King book converted to freaky movie, is it just me, or does that movie (while still rating quite high on the spookometer, I was a small thing when I first saw it, and displaying a bit of good acting I s'pose) have a VERY disappointing ending? It's not as gory as usual, not a patch on Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things etc. but still an OK movie.
Answers: Keep 'em coming...

I think they did the best they could with the ending. If you read the book the ending is more messed up then one can imagine.(all the boys having sex with the 1 girl in the group, ect.)

First part is great, second part stinks....if they'd just stuck with the Pennywise incarnation of IT I think it would have been great.

Considering it was a primetime mini-series and not a theatrical movie, the scene where they tear It's heart out was pretty gruesome (albeit implied).  Still the book is far, far gorier and deviant in its character relations.
