Title: Session 9
Post by: J.R. on September 19, 2002, 01:55:05 AM
This is one of those great small horror films that get overlooked while Ginger Snaps gets sizeable exposure. It's about a bunch of asbestos removers working in a haunted asylum. It's shot with digital cameras which gives it a very creepy look. It's character-driven and unfolds slowly and it has a killer ending. I highly recommend it.

I don't know how much exposure Ginger Snaps got.  I came across more stuff about Session 9 than I ever did Ginger Snaps .

Not much more to add beyond that, except, good ot bad, Session 9 is on my list.

I was one of the few people who watched it on the theatres. Great horror movie. What I really liked of it is that is extremely believable and realistic at any moment, and yet it succeeds as a horror movie. Hell, even the actors look like people you could see working with their own hands. A must see, at least for the different approach and the setting.

I was disappointed when SESSION 9 never got a decent theatrical release.  From everything I've heard it's a great movie.  I may buy the DVD sight unseen.

I liked how plausible it was, that it might actually be something you hear about on the news. No spoilers, but the ending seemed like things I've read about before.

I saw it on cable this past weekend...interesting film.  A little bit confusing toward the end, though.
Title: Session 9 is No Longer on My List
Post by: Cullen on September 23, 2002, 02:35:55 PM
Session 9 is no longer on my list of movies I must see.  Cause I've seen it.
A damn fine movie, one of the best "ghost" stories I've seen.

I did have a problem with the digital camera aspect of it.  Gave it a shot on video feel to it.  Two of the worst movies I have ever seen were shot on video, and they color ever other movie that looks even remotely like them.

Of course, that's in no way Session 9 's fault.  Just an obseveration.
