The topic about Worm Eaters got me thinking about fast food films on FX network. Did anyone else like this program?
It was okay, but didn't really have a good "hook," like funny hosts or somesuch...and I'd seen so many shows like that WITH good hooks not last very long, so I didn't let myself get attached. I remember the movies they ran more than the show itself; Mike Conners' "Casino" must be the worst movie on Earth ("Yaaaaaaaaaagh!"). It has a IMDB (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0202187) entry! Looks like this was the last thing the creators did...
OT: I still hate FX for pulling the plug on "The Dick & Paula Celebrity Special"...
I didn;t even give it a chance. Shows that make fun of other peoples works really isn't my bag, daddo. It's L7, ya know. Square.
I didn't like Mystery Science Theater 3000 , either. At least at first. The bots grew on me, I guess. Plus watching someone else scream at Hobgoblins was a bit... rejuvinating. Couldn't watch it when they played a movie I liked, though

Cullen, who's the bee's knees.
FFF was a little different in that respect. While the narrator gave a pretty glib introduction to each film (three films were covered in a half-hour, so you didn't see much!!!) the clips were then allowed to speak for themselves. If the film was available on video, which was usually the case, the program listed the most direct source...which means the show was actually an infomercial!! (They did a lot of Troma entries.) Comedic shorts were put together using the previously-seen footage as parody documentaries to end each program, but they never stood up and said "this sucks." They were even kind to the eyeball-searingly awful animated "David Copperfield" that was out of print.
On the other end, there was another program--"(something something) Drive-In," I forget, that had a similar clip format but focused on gore and cheesiness. Their first victim was "Deadly Eyes," and they took great glee in pointing out that the movie's giant rats appeared to be dachshunds in costumes a la "Killer Shrews." Anyone remember the name of that program?
