Just seen HALLOWEEN - H20 last night and thought it was great. Everything was well done, especially the ending. Also they have Janet Leigh from "Psycho", some kid with a hockey mask (like a Jason), a person in a "Scream" outfit. The story was well done with Jamie Lee Curtis returning because the first HALLOWEEN is what I remember most and its how I identify Myers with the most.
I thought the movie betrayed the series, which is a hard thing to do. I mean, there were some good moments (finding out that Jamie Lee is Michael's sister, adding more depth to his reasoning of stalking her), and the ending was top-notch (as was the explanation for why it WASN'T Michael), but overall I thought the movie was crap. Then again, it's a post-Scream slasher, so of course it would be self-aware the majority of the time.
There is one scene in this movie that makes me laugh every time. I don't know if it was intenional or if the screenwriter fell into a cliche, but it's great. Jamie Lee hops behind the wheel of a BRAND NEW minivan. She turns the key and it stalls with an ugly beat-up Dodge Dart sound.
Yea, JR, I couldn't believe that this NEW vehicle could start when you really needed it. Unbelievable, but it didn't take anything away from the film at all.
