Title: Motel Hell and The Dentist
Post by: Anonymous User on October 23, 2002, 03:40:29 PM
Motel Hell and the Dentist are two of the absolute best bad movies that I have ever seen.  And, some how these films appear to be missing from this great website.

Motel Hell is about a canablistic farmer, Vincent to be exact, who grows human crops to produced his famous Farmer Vincent smoked meats.  Not to spoil the ending, but a pig is involved.

The Dentist does not have quite the plot and timeless value of Motel Hell, but is a classic nontheless.  One of the few movies that I can actually say hurts to watch.  In addition, Corbin Berson turns in an out standing performance as a deranged dentist who flips his lid when finds his wife cheating on him with the sludge covered pool guy.  This particular dentist did not like sluge must in the first place, so watch out pool guy.  He certainly puts the Roger Dorn role from Major League far behind him in this film.

If any one has seen these films and feels that they should be on this site, or just want to comment on them...lets hear it.

I believe Andrew is planning to review Motel Hell here very soon.  Watch for it!

I have a special findnss for Motel Hell. The cover with the hillbilly people and a guy with a hockey mask and chainsaw were enough to make me rent it.

I find it funny how people wonder why every movie isn't on this site and reviewed by Andrew.  He's only human.   Also he allows reader reviews, so if you want it on the site sit down and write a review.  Another thing is that even though I like reading through all the reviews at least once, I prefer the ones of movies I've never seen because it gives me an idea of what to watch in the future.

Simply 2 of the best ever --
"It takes all kinds of critters, to make Farmer (something's) Fritters!"
Rory Calhoun -- the actor playing the farmer, was in a lot of A-list Westerns in the '50's & '60's with John Wayne & Ward Bond & all them other guys.  The actress playing his daughter was Large Marge in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure & Mrs. Ballbraker in all the Porky's films.  She is a great actress who I guess never made it big because she's fat.
Did you notice the plywood splinters flying off the big teeth models in the "close-up torture" sequences?  Bad movie heaven!!

Nancy Parsons played in Motel Hell and the Porky's movies. Alice Nunn played Large Marge.

Cripes!  Really?  They look exactly like each other -- sure it wasn't a stage name?

I don't think so, they have completely different lists of credits, as you would have seen if the links to IMDB that I put in my last message had worked! Also, I've seen Pee-Wee's Big Adventure a few times after seeing Porky's and it didn't look like the same actress to me.

I think that people often wandering onto the site and, not finding one of their favorites listed, look for a way to suggest it.  They probably do not realize that I am the only caretaker (though everyone on the board and the people submitting reviews definitely make it a much better place).

And AshtheCat has it nailed - a review for "Motel Hell" is on its way sometime in November.
