Title: Spectre (1997) **
Post by: Scott on November 12, 2002, 10:14:09 AM
Watched this film called SPECTRE last night. Well, it is low budget with really cheap special effects. Possibly worst than CGI. The story and the scares are actually quite penetrating if you have never seen any horror films in the past. SPECTRE throws everything at you, exceot the kitchen sink from the world of horror films. For example ghost, black magic, voices, possesion, psycho type images, old house in Ireland, priest, car explosion, little girl, gargoyle, decapitation, gore, nudity, and house that burns down.

Its not a memorable film in itself, but its more like a library of film ideas put together with a story. The film reminds you of these other films.

Exorcist
Psycho
Amityville Horror
Poltergiest
House of Usher

The scenes that stick out most are the

Old ghost lady moving her hands towards the young living girl
The decapitation of the psychic
The girl ghost talking to the young girl
The mother with the butcher knife
Gargoyle statue

You mean the Greg Evigan movie? I thought it was ok.

I think it's biggest accomplishment was continually coming up with reasons why otherwise-rational people would stay in a known haunted house.

Yes, the Greg Evigan movie. The part about not leaving the house is also true.
