OK, watched TC-2000 (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0108277) recently, which stars 'actor' turned fitness guru Billy Banks.
I recommend Nathan's review at ColdFusion Video (http://www.coldfusionvideo.com/t/tc2000.html) and after re-reading it, I really don't have much to add (other than that I found TC-2000 pretty bad and if Nathan says Omega Cop is much worse, I'm really scared)
It was kinda interesting to see Bolo Yeung playing a good guy, with actual lines and everything. Although I noticed his daugther did most of his exposition (her role seems to basically be to read his lines), and in the one scene where he has any dialog at length, his face was covered with a mask and his lips never moved (voiceover by someone else, I suspect).
Why doesn't Matthias Hues get better roles? I liked him in Droid Gunner (aka CyberZone) and the very few lines he gets here...he seems like a fairly nice guy and does a good job.
Do *not* try to figure out timelines based an relative ages, relationships, and actors apparent ages. It doesn't work and you'll go mad trying to figure it out. Also please try not to notice how ridiculous the T/C police tactics and methods are, it'll just give you a headache (or a sore throat yelling at the screen)
If you want a decent martial arts fight every 5 minutes, this is for you, but the rest of the 'plot' is really just to provide for excuses to have fight scenes so set your expectations low if you take this one on
Thanks for the recommend. And I reiterate: Omega Cop is worse than most things you'll see. Hell, it's worse than most things I'LL see.
Thanks for the recommend.
You'd be surprised how many times I'll see a movie under one of these conditions.
a) ... because I read your review
b) .. and look for reviews afterward, to find you've covered it
c) .. and think to myself "this looks like something Nathan would cover"
(Often c preceeds b)
