Title: GODZILLA VS. MEGALON: Anchor Bay/Starmaker video uncut?
Post by: Chris K. on November 20, 2002, 05:38:55 PM
You know, when GODZILLA VS. MEGALON was released in the U.S. by Cinema Shares Releasing Corporation the distributor removed some violence, profanity (tame by todays standards), and even the title sequence! Since then, this version and the short 60 minute televised version has been available on VHS for quite a while.

But during the Godzilla craze of 1998, Anchor Bay Entertainment and Starmaker Video released GODZILLA VS. MEGALON on video. Now I haven't seen the Anchor Bay/Starmaker video of GODZILLA VS. MEGALON, but from what I hear it is the uncut international version containing the complete title sequence and all the other material that was cut. I know one thing: Anchor Bay/ Starmaker's video lists the running time as 96 minutes while my old Video Treasures VHS lists the tunning time of 76 minutes!

Anyway, has anybody out there seen the VHS of GODZILLA VS. MEGALON on video from Anchor Bay/Starmaker label?

I received a boxed set of Zilla titles back in 98 and the Starmaker video I have is the cut version.
