Title: Insect movie
Post by: Pdawg on December 05, 2002, 05:32:29 PM
Does anyone remember this movie with these overgrown waterbugs that can burn you when they touched you?  It's like their thorax would light up and if a bunch of them got on you, you would practically catch on fire.  Thanks!

Gah! - rings a bell...  Did they come from deep within the Earth and ultimately, their inability to handle the lower air pressure at the surface is what did them in?  Did the hero look like the dad from Land of the Lost?  Now you've got ME wondering.

I think the insect film you are looking for is called, amazingly enough, BUG. Either that or some other insect-on-the-loose film that missed my eye.

The movie you're talking about is indeed BUG.  It's a damn fine movie, too.  Well, I think so anyway.  I love all those 70's bug on the loose movies.  Speaking of which, I really wish they'd put out a reprint of Phase IV.  It's my favorite 70's bug movie, and for those who haven't seen it, do so if you can.  Your only chance is pretty much a Saturday afternoon showing on the Sci Fi channel.  It's getting pretty hard to find even on eBay, and I'm still trying to get my claws on a copy.
