Title: Will Penny (1968 Western)
Post by: Scott on December 29, 2002, 09:54:14 AM
Just see a good western last night called WILL PENNY (1968). It stars Charleton Heston, Lee Major (first film), Donald Pleasant, Slim Pickens, Bruce Dern, and some others that I don't remember. Neat story with a non-Hollywood ending. A movie you can get into and it has some neat mountains scenes in the background. Its suppose to be in Montana, but it was shot in California I believe on the eastern side of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains. If you haven't seen it check it out.

I've seen it -  very good. In fact, I'll be reviewing it in the next few months.

I've seen it, a very good overlooked western. Heston has said in interviews it's one of his favorite films because he thinks he did some of his best acting in it. It came out about the same time as "Planet Of The Apes" and was overshadowed.

I remember this one. The story was great, and the scenery was majestic for sure.
The sadness of the ending has stayed with me, even though the details have slipped my mind. Good movie, good western.
