Title: Has anyone seen...
Post by: Paul on January 04, 2003, 05:05:55 AM
I could swear that I saw a movie once with James Mason entitled "Journey to the Center of Time."  This movie could compete with any title for Worst Movie Ever Made.  The gist of the movie is that it is a very low budget adaptation of "Journey to the Center of the Earth."  However, this movie has giant fanged turtles that have grown so large they can no longer move, but can "sense a natural disaster about to occur."  The dialog in this movie is so bad it can harden your colon.

Has anyone seen this?

Thanks

I rented that when I was about 12. I know I rented it expecting something cheesy, and I remember not being dissappointed, but I'll be damned if I can remember anything else about it. Were there blue-skinned people in it?

Pete, Vermin Boy

I had searched IMDb and came up with a 1967 Title; not the same one.
It's been so long I can't remember if there were blue people in it or not.
The only thing I can remember clearly is the giant turtles.
The party including James Mason come across these giant turtle shells.  Mason says:  "They must have grown so large they could no longer hunt for food and went extinct."  Then a plastic turtle head complete with fangs comes out and makes an eek-eek sound.  Mason says:  "They must sense some natural disaster about to occur, quick back to the raft.

Hey, thanks, Flange! It's been way too long since I've updated the MST site... One of these days I'm gonna get in there and throw a bunch of updates in. I'm lousy with updates... Even the ones I "regularly" update (the Demons' page, the Internet Sideshow) will go up to 6 months without change. Ah, well, such is the life of the slacker. Thanks for the good word!

How about Journey to the Center of the Earth? Made in 1959 and starring James Mason.
