Has anyone here ever seen the 1977 film "The Incredible Melting Man". I found it stuffed away in a cabinet of old VHS tapes I never felt like checking out...since I'm one of those only DVD or not at all type of people. And i actually enjoyed it, i think the film is highly under-rated, and deserves more praise. I know that midnight movies on MGM has it recently released on VHS, hopefully it can gain a decent DVD transfer in the near future. As week speek, im even writing an article on it for my "Previously Viewed" section of my website. Feal free to stop by and shed some blood.
Chadzilla wrote up a review for my site if anyone is interested:
I remember seeing ads for the Melting Man makeup kit. I wanted to order it, but back then it seemed like it cost a fortune (was probably $20-30).
More like The Incredible Boring Man.
HA! if you njoyed th emovie( i thought it was a below average ok) you LOVE the Mystery science theater 3000 version of it. My GOD its hilarious
Fun movie....I actually saw this in a drive-in when it was originally released to theatres. Gotta love that advertising tagline:
"The first NEW horror creature!"
(LOL....)
To this day, Rick Baker hasn't fully explained how he did those amazing effects, which are a hoot!
"What is it?"
"My God....it's his EAR!"

"I'm Doctor Ted Nelson!"
*BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAMBLAM!!*
Painful movie, but I love that moment.
I have the German DVD (http://www.lfvw.com/melting_man.jpg/) which is in anamorphic widescreen. I watched it in 16x9 mode and it is really fun to watch in scope.
I like this movie alot and its pure fun. Very much like a 50's monster movie except the slow motion head rolling which seems to go on and on and on and on till it splats on a rock! haha
Try this instead (http://www.lfvw.com/melting_man.jpg).
Rick Baker make-up and an ear in a tree--who could ask fer anything more?
