Title: Best Song in a Bad Movie
Post by: Bubba on January 28, 2003, 06:13:23 PM
So what's the best song in a bad movie?

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians - "Hooray for Santy Claus"
Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster - "Save the Earth"
Godzilla vs. Megalon - "Jet Jaguar"
Worm Eaters - Theme Song
Stoogemania - "I'm a Stoogemaniac"
Red Zone Cuba - "Night Train to Mundo Fine"
Mitchell - "My my my my Mitchell"

My kids tend to sing the song the little pixies were singing in "Godzilla versus Mothra"

How about the theme song from ZaaT (aka Blood Waters of Dr. Z)?  Any song that dares to rhyme "sargassum" with "sarcasm" is okay by me!

The theme song from THE WONDERFUL LAND OF OZ (now available as part of a DVD double feature with JACK AND THE BEANSTALK from Something Weird DVD) is pretty bad. In fact, the whole movie is pretty bad. It looks like they filmed it on a stage in a school auditorium (although, actually, I think they filmed it at an amusement park or something). The acting is terrible and the costumes look like the actors made them themselves.

I gotta go with "Do the Jellyfish" by Neil Sedaka in STING OF DEATH.

You ever hear Devo's cover of "The Words Get Stuck In My Throat," with vocals by their high-pitched mascot Booji Boy? It's simply astounding!

Other favorites:

*"Rat Fink" from Rat Pfink A Boo Boo: "I got a word for you, because it's what you is, you is a RAT FINK! You is a RAT FINK! (Guitar player's a rat fink! Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!)"

*"Killer Klowns from Outer Space" by the Dickies

*The theme from "Creature from the Haunted Sea."

*The theme from "Spider Baby," sung by Lon Chaney Jr!!!

*I second Bubba on "Night Train to Mundo Fine." That John Carradine had one helluva voice! ;)

It's kinda nifty until you hear it the third time...

It's on the 2-disc Rhino anthology, Pioneers Who Got Scalped. It's a great collection if you like Devo; it's got all their "hits," plus demos, singles, clips from their movies, etc. That song is definitely worth it; you can probably find it used pretty cheap.

"If I had a little telegraph, tapping in my brain, it would tap out morse code I Love Yooooouuu... But the WOOOOOOORDS get stuck in my throat!"

Got to be "You can't fart around with love" from Roseland.  I think they also have it in the DVD for God of Indian Flats or something.  Seriusly, it's the craziest thing I've ever seen.  The movie is horrible, but this song.  It's like Black Sabbath meets Monty Python on the set of the Ed Sullivan show.   Occurs about 10 minutes in.  Totally over the top

There's this really stupid song in ROTOR that is really catchy.  It's a country song that sticks in you head.
Title: Yor!
Post by: I_Luv_Dolma on February 01, 2003, 11:05:59 PM
Anyone seen Yor, the Hunter From the Future? If you have, then you know the theme song. Man, that song rocks, its in my head right now..

Yor's world. He's the man. Yor's world. He is a man from future, that's his destiny...

How about the closing theme song to STAR CRYSTAL. Almost as cheesy as the movie. Almost.

How about the closing theme song to STAR CRYSTAL.

Does anyone usually make it that far?

The ludicrous YOR, HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE theme song.
The language defying YETI: GIANT OF THE 20TH CENTURY theme song.
The NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER theme song.
The end song to FILIPINO BATMAN & ROBIN.

45 Grave - "Party Time" (from Return Of The Living Dead)
Penis Flytrap - "The Dead Hate The Living" (from The Dead Hate The Living)
"The Guyver Theme" (from the live-action The Guyver)
Mike Shields - "Ginger Snaps Theme" (from Ginger Snaps)

And, although it's not a b-movie AT ALL, that song that plays at the end of Donnie Darko, just before the end-credits roll (when everybody's crying or awake in bed), is great. Dunno the artist or song title, but part of the chorus is:
I find it kinda funny, yet I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
