Title: Crowhaven Farm
Post by: The Burgomaster on February 11, 2003, 06:37:59 PM
Does anyone remember this movie? I believe it was made for TV back in the early 1970s. I thought it was scary when I was a kid, but I haven't seen it in about 30 years.  I remember a scene where people were torturing a woman by piling rocks on her torso. They were trying to make her give up her wedding ring so that they could claim her husband's soul or something. Has anyone seen this lately?

Yes, I remember that mini-series, which was made in the late seventies. I thought it was scary way back when I was a kid but I don't know if I'd find it scary today. I still have vivid images in my mind from watching it. According to IMDB, Rosanna Arquette plays a  teenager in it. This was before her breakout role in Desperately Seeking Susan. I'd like to see it again.

I don't know, I remember a crowhaven farm, but it was different.  I remember some hillbillies pulling an "early snowboarder" down a gravel road (no snow) with an old pickup truck.  The dude wound up entangled in a barbed-wire fence (Bob War in Texas).  And some insane girl was escaping from her room (with the cool door peek-hole), and killing peer-to-peer users.  But I may be thinking of some other movie, there's been soooo many!

Yes, I saw it on TV maybe 10 years ago.

Ah yes, the popular old time amusement known as "pressing".

I've only seen it once and they showed a coupel of the reels out of order. I forget the details, but in one scene she was telling someone about something that happened, then after a couple commercial breaks, you see the incident that she was describing and it wasn't a flashback.

It was a single, two-hour movie-of-the-week, and one of the best of the 70's tv movies. Don't forget that John Carradine...Mr. "I Shamelessly Appeared In More Movies Than Anyone".....was also a costar.

Yes. John Carradine and Hope Lange. What a combo.
