Title: mst3k
Post by: Randy on February 12, 2003, 02:33:53 PM
A friend watched mst3k the other day and proclaimed the entry for that day to be the worst movie ever. Great, I said, what was it called? He didn't know.
All he could tell me about it was that it featured dinosaurs with necklaces that exploded, a cyborg villain and a Jean Claude Von Dammit wannabe who kept taking his shirt off. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

No, but I've seen parts of it.

FUTURE WAR

If you want a real laugh, look it up on IMDB and read the film's director rant against those that criticized the movie.

Stand by it all you want.

You're still wrong.

But unlike you, I have no need (please check with your shrink on this sad compulsion) to tar someone whose sense of humor doesn't happen to coincide with mine.

Tagline: "Past Predator, Present Alien, Future Terminator."

Holy ****. Shameless.

Thanks for the tip-off, Foywonder. Those "producer's comments" are not quite as funny as Gary Goddard's running from site to site defending of his own little mess, but still pretty giggleworthy. (Especially when, at one point, he abruptly tries to suggest he deliberately made it suckalicious.) Quote:

"First off there is a lot of comparison to the Carnasour films - there should be as Future War was supposed to use the main dino from the Carnasour movie but it didn't."

Oh! Well...that explains that. I'm surprised the "main dino" from "The Mighty Gorga" was unavailable. It would have saved you, what, three whole dollars.

No, Mr. Producer, I've never made a movie. I've never worked at McDonald's either, but if I find a batter-fried mouse among my "chicken" nuggets, I'm not going to happily eat the damn thing without comment. You earned it; take it like a man.

"Wow" is right!  I just checked the producer's comments on IMDB, too.  First he says we can't appreciate OR criticize the film because we never made one.  (How's that for an assumption?)  Then he says he knew at the time it was garbage.  In the middle there somewheres he ALMOST seems to suggest that 'real' action films don't waste time on things like dialogue.

Well, as this board proves, we're all capable of appreciating ingenious low-budget movies that know how to make a virtue out of their shortcomings.

Unless of course, the movie's ALL shortcomings.

Kinda like his.

Funny guy.

My favorite part is how he names all the prominent movies that people involved with that project went on to do.....However, he never mentions himself, leading me to believe that he never went on to do jack squat, which is why he's probably so sensitive about it.  I love how he assumes that just by being linked with the title 'Carnosaur 3', that it would have been a better movie.  Moron.
