Title: Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet (1965)
Post by: Scott on February 14, 2003, 10:45:04 PM
Ok, well I couldn't play my co-workers  VCD of PLANET OF STORMS (a.k.a. Planeta Burg), so I bought Roger Cormans version with scenes cut from the Russian PLANET OF STORMS to make VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET (1965) which is not bad. The space outfits are ok and it looks like they filmed it on the shores of the Black or Caspian Sea's. They have this hovering land vehicle that reminds you of Luke Skywalkers on his home planet of Tatooie and a robot named "John".  I'm not sure what scenes are from the Russian original, but my co-worker has just handed me PLANET OF BLOOD (1966) which also used cut out scenes from the Russian PLANET OF STORMS, so after I view PLANET OF BLOOD I'll have a better idea of the original. My co-worker says PLANET OF BLOOD is really good especially the female alien and the box that holds it also says its truly astonishing. Anyone with any thoughts?

If you can't play it, I'll be happy to take it off your hands for you...

Sorry John I returned it, but I just finished PLANET OF BLOOD (a.k.a. QUEEN OF BLOOD) starring John Saxon, Dennis Hopper, Florence Marly, Judi Meredith, Robert Boon. After seeing it I'm not sure if it dos contain footage from PLANET OF STORMS. Maybe some of the space scenes, but nothing else. The silent female alien is rather creepy. And some of the planet walks look neat. John Saxon and who ever played Faraday were terrible. Dennis Hopper was great in a subtle way. He even gets drained of all his blood, to bad it wasn't Saxons character. We needed more of the young Dennis Hopper. Some of his lines are really strange. The two females in the film are good. It dosn't resemble VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET at all. Well maybe I'll get to see PLANET OF STORMS someday.

Ohhhh, i must be the only one who, when ever the Flying buggy showed up, started singing the SUPERCAR theme. I had a ball with this one, and the Robot was pretty cool, too.

I don't think it does. The two movies Planet of Storms was spliced into were Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet and Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women.

I haven't seen either in years, but as I recall, they're basically about the same. The first one only implies that there might be a civilization while the second actually shows the women, although the astronauts never see them.
